Mega Man Battle Network 4.5 Real Operation (originally released in Japan as Rockman EXE 4.5 Real Operation) is a 2004 tactical role-playing spin-off game developed by Capcom for the Game Boy Advance (GBA). Unlike the mainline entries, it replaces standard protagonist Lan Hikari with the player themselves, turning the GBA into a simulated Personal Terminal (PET) to "operate" various NetNavis. It was historically exclusive to Japan until community translators released a full English patch.

- Hands-Off Combat: NetNavis move and attack autonomously on the grid. The player acts strictly as an operator—slotting in Battle Chips, selecting targets, and issuing specific tactical commands.
- Expanded Playable Roster: Instead of playing solely as Mega Man, players can select and operate over a dozen different NetNavis from the franchise (such as ProtoMan, Roll, NumberMan, and GutsMan), each featuring unique dialogue, stats, and mini-games.
- Real-Time Clock System: The game incorporates real-time calendar and clock mechanics. NetNavis greet the player based on the time of day, schedule daily tournaments, and unlock specific events dependent on real-world time.
- Battle Chip Gate Integration: It was uniquely designed to link up with the physical Battle Chip Gate GBA peripheral. This allowed players to slot real-life toy Battle Chips directly into their hardware to use them mid-battle.
- Multiplayer Connectivity: Players can battle against other users playing Battle Network 4.5 or link up with Mega Man Battle Network 4 cartridges for cross-game NetBattles.
