Boktai 3: Sabata's Counterattack (Shin Bokura no Taiyō: Gyakushū no Sabata) is a 2005 isometric action-adventure RPG developed by Konami for the Game Boy Advance. Released exclusively in Japan, it features the series' signature physical solar sensor cartridge, a new motorcycle-coffining mechanic, and a tragic storyline involving Django and his rival/brother Sabata.
This game is a full, 100% English translation!
Core Features and Gameplay
- The Vector Coffin: Introduces a dual-purpose coffin that functions as both a traditional purification vehicle and a fast-travel motorcycle for navigating levels.
- Streamlined Combat: Streamlines weapon choices into distinct sword types (short swords, rapiers, great swords) alongside traditional ranged gunplay and a new Trance Gauge for supercharged attacks.
- Crossover Content: Features unique crossover elements and connection bonuses with Mega Man Battle Network 6.
Story Overview
- Plot: Django faces a corrupted Sabata, who has been brainwashed by the villain Ratatosk to fuse with the immortal entity Vanargand.
- Japan Exclusive: Due to low international sales of the second entry, this final chapter of the GBA trilogy never saw an official Western release, though English fan translations exist.
Since this cartridge does not have the original sun sensor, a workaround was built into the cartridge. Hold Select, then press Left to decrease or Right to increase sunlight.
